New Updates

My brother scolded me for not keeping up with my blog posts, so I’m here to update everyone on what’s new and exciting in Sierra/Secret-land.

I’ve received the draft for the prequel cover, and it’s delicious! I can’t wait to get final approval to show it to you guys.

Last week I was in LA at the annual RT Booklovers Conference, and am really excited that I’ll be able to participate in the book signing fairs next April (along with some big names like Charlaine Harris and JR Ward). I met some truly amazing people and some all around fabulous authors. Got to meet some of my heroes (Kelley Armstrong, Rachel Vincent and Dean Koontz!) and discovered some new series (Jaye Wells, Diana Rowland, Richelle Mead, and more)

My editor also sent me the blurb for A Bloody Good Secret (Secret McQueen Book 2) but you’ll have to wait a bit before I can post it. It has some minor spoilers for book 1 and I want to give people a chance to read the first book before I put it up. With book 1 in mind, I’ve also added a new tab up top for reviews. So far there aren’t many but the closer we get the more you’ll see updates there.

I also just wrapped up the initial draft on a second Secret novella, this one with a bit of a Christmas theme. I’ll be sending it to my editor next week so let’s cross our fingers!

New Blurb

Got the final copy on the blurb for The Secret Guide to Dating Monsters, the Secret McQueen prequel novella being released in July from Samhain:

Are blind dates supposed to be this bloody?

They say it’s impossible to find a man in New York City. Secret McQueen needs to find two in one night. Of course, it’ll mean pulling off the impossible—find and kill a displaced rogue vampire without disrupting the first promising date she’s had in ages. As a werewolf hybrid used to walking a fine line of survival in the vampire world, though, Secret eats impossible for breakfast.

Somewhere between hello and the first round of drinks, Secret makes her move. Her target, Hollywood’s biggest star, shouldn’t be hard to spot. Just look for swarms of fans. Except every time her vampire liaison, Holden, helps keep her mission on track, her date runs further off the rails.

Either Holden has a hidden agenda, or he knows more than he’s letting on about her quarry. One way or another, Secret is determined to get her man, and meet Mr. Right. Or die trying.

Warning: This book contains a sword-wielding assassin whose barbs are sharper than her blade, a vampire with serious brooding issues but a skilled tongue, and an A-lister with a bad habit of eating his fans.

Reviews

Hard to believe, but with just over 7 weeks left before the book releases, Something Secret this Way Comes got its first review today. I’m unbelievably excited to find that my first review is not only positive, but glowing.

LovLivLife Reviews Something Secret this Way Comes

My two highlight review blurbs:

“Sierra Dean’s characters and worldbuilding is nothing shy of remarkable.”

and

“Something Secret This Way Comes is a must read for PNR/UF adult fans alike.”

Thanks to Chas for the review. You’ve gotten behind Secret and her world. Your review made my day.
